Our Story

Queen Jayne initially started with our lead singer Tanner Strunk as a young man in a garage with a dream - based in St. Clair County, MI, he and his friend Chris Presnell had started this band in their early high-school career and eventually had a change of plans when they went to college in 2017. As time progressed, Tanner had been making music on his own for a few years before finding bandmates to continue the project under the same name. During this time, Tanner had written a full album's worth (and more) on his own and dived further into the world of audio. Before that new line up fell apart a few years later in 2021, they had caught the attention of a couple members of The Twisted Brown Trucker Band with Strunk's music. After both the new line up and the opportunity fell through, Tanner and Chris reconnected and restarted their search for band members using the music Tanner was writing through the years.

While at a bonfire at a friend's house late at night, they met Eric Zuby, who would become our drummer and release our first single Groove with Tanner on guitars, bass, and vocals. As their search for another member went on, Tanner had found a reoccurring friendship with Colton Proctor through 2 separate jobs, who went on to become our bassist, recording our other singles Cold Love and Dirty Money with Tanner and Eric.

By the time we had found all of our members, Chris had an amazing work opportunity and decided to go another direction for the time. After that, Colton had brought his friend Lee Smit to audition for the newly opened spot as a guitarist, who we were excited to accept as our new member. Thus, the band was on it's way and finally moving again.

Through the years, Tanner had been learning about audio and practicing his work through the band - he considers our first singles to be his real college years, where he learned what he wanted to do outside of music (which was even more music). Queen Jayne has since grown in fanbase and performance value by playing venues around Detroit such as Small's, The Old Miami, The Sanctuary, along with many others and local festivals. This year in 2026, we released our first self-titled album Queen Jayne, with our original recordings remastered and balanced alongside our newer recordings. Being an album fully mixed and mastered by Strunk in the original garage he and his friend started in, we are proud of the unique sounds captured through the period of 3 years and written through nearly a decade (and even more excited to reproduce it live for crowds across the world).

We don't just plan to play music - we plan to entertain, build, and show the authenticity found in the giants of music.
